Build your shortlist around subject, teaching language and city. METU in Ankara offers English-medium study across several faculties; Istanbul options include Boğaziçi and Koç. Compare programme content and student support alongside fees, and verify the qualification’s recognition for your intended career.
International admission requirements vary by university. Boğaziçi publishes accepted qualifications and English requirements. METU’s undergraduate application does not require an English score at submission, but admitted students must meet registration-stage proficiency rules or attend preparation. Check accepted tests carefully; institutions do not accept every English examination.
There is no single deadline for every university. METU’s 2026/27 international undergraduate window was 1 June–12 July 2026 and is closed. Follow the next published calendar for your shortlist and prepare examinations, certified documents and finances in advance. Scholarship calendars are separate.
METU’s 2026/27 international-quota example: new engineering students pay USD 1,200 per semester. Its June 2026 Ankara guide estimates TRY 12,000–18,000 monthly for campus-dormitory living with an economical lifestyle. These are specific examples, not national prices; confirm housing availability, personal costs and your university’s current invoice.
Türkiye Scholarships is competitive and includes university placement, tuition, accommodation and health insurance. The currently published undergraduate stipend is TRY 6,500 monthly. The 2026 application window, 10 January–20 February, is closed. Check the next announcement, nationality/age criteria and eligible programmes before planning around an award.
After admission, confirm your entry requirements with the consulate and arrange student residence procedures with the university. METU’s guide lists passport, enrolment, insurance and address-related documents among the requirements. Reserve accommodation early and allow for deposits, translations and administrative costs.
Students need a work permit; associate and bachelor’s students become eligible after their first year. Graduates may apply within six months for a one-time short-term residence permit of up to one year, subject to conditions. This residence route does not itself authorise employment or guarantee a job.
It depends on the institution. METU permits undergraduate applications without an English score, but registration and preparatory-class rules still apply. Confirm your chosen university’s accepted tests and deadlines.
No. Türkiye Scholarships advises applicants to check their chosen field’s equivalence and validity in their own country. This is especially relevant when a profession requires licensing.
