THE DETAILS BEHIND YOUR PLAN
Study and application requirements

Study in England: a focused route
This guide covers the England-based universities listed on this page; it is not a single guide to all European countries. A full-time bachelor’s usually takes three years. Foundation or placement years can extend the programme. Compare the course structure and campus before choosing your route.
English and academic preparation
Check the university’s country-specific qualification requirements and the English evidence accepted for your course. A pre-sessional English or foundation route may be available if you do not yet meet direct-entry conditions. Entry to the degree remains subject to the university’s progression rules.
Choose the right start date
September is available for the Portsmouth Business and Management example. Other courses may offer additional starts: its London Business Analytics route lists September 2026, January 2027 and May 2027. These are programme-specific examples. Confirm availability, document deadlines and time for your visa before applying.
Tuition and living funds
Portsmouth’s Business and Management BA lists £17,900 annual international tuition for September 2026 entry, subject to annual increases. Separately, current Student visa maintenance requirements are £1,171 monthly outside London or £1,529 in London, for up to nine months. These are visa minimums, not complete living-cost quotations.
Find funding that fits your profile
GREAT Scholarships offer £10,000 towards selected one-year taught master’s courses for eligible nationalities; the 2026/27 scheme spans participating UK universities. Chevening is another competitive master’s option. Check your country, subject, university and application cycle rather than assuming that every offer includes funding.
From offer to arrival
A Student visa normally requires a place from a licensed sponsor, a CAS, suitable English evidence and the required funds. Check any additional documents that apply to your nationality and course. Arrange housing separately through verified university resources and review deposits and cancellation terms before payment.
Student work and the Graduate route
Eligible full-time degree students can generally work 20 hours weekly in term time. The Graduate visa lasts two years for applications through 31 December 2026, then 18 months from 1 January 2027; eligible doctorates remain three years. Both routes have conditions—graduation alone does not guarantee permission.
Your questions, answered
Does this page cover every European country?
No. The current university examples are in England, so the fees, admissions and visa information here refer to the UK. Tell us your preferred country if you want to explore another European destination; it will need a separate country assessment.
Is the visa maintenance amount my whole budget?
No. Tuition is additional, and your actual housing and living expenses may exceed the visa minimum. Include travel, deposits, the visa fee and healthcare surcharge. Confirm which tuition payments are recorded on your CAS and how your funds must be evidenced.
