THE DETAILS BEHIND YOUR PLAN
Study and application requirements
Open the topic that matters to you. Let’s work through your questions together.
Choose your degree and city
Explore Baku-based options in business, engineering, technology and other fields. Azerbaijan’s official admissions guidance describes full-time bachelor’s study as four or five years and master’s study as 1.5 or two years. Compare the exact programme, teaching language and recognition relevant to your career.
Match the language and entry route
Programmes may be offered in Azerbaijani, English, Russian or Turkish. A bachelor’s application normally needs a school-leaving certificate; a master’s needs a relevant degree. At ADA, international applicants submit an institutional application, may be interviewed, and also complete the national CAS application.
Apply to the right intake
Deadlines belong to each university. ADA’s published 2026 international undergraduate dates were 8 April and 1 July; both have passed. Ask for the next intake’s confirmed calendar. Prepare translations and language evidence early, and distinguish scholarship deadlines from ordinary admission deadlines.
Understand tuition and living costs
ADA’s latest clearly dated published table is for 2025: many international undergraduate programmes list AZN 8,500 annually, including AZN 750 student fees. Treat this as a dated example and request the current intake’s invoice. Budget separately for housing, meals, transport, insurance, residence formalities and travel.
Check funded study options
The 2026/27 Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant programme lists 100 annual awards and eligibility including OIC and Non-Aligned Movement countries. Coverage includes tuition, flights, a monthly allowance, insurance and visa/registration. This may be relevant to eligible applicants from Pakistan, Central Asia and Africa; selection is competitive.
Arrange entry, residence and housing
Confirm the correct education-entry route with the consulate and your admitting university; eligibility differs by nationality. Full-time education is a basis for temporary residence under Azerbaijan’s migration guidance. Ask the university for accommodation options and assistance with local registration and residence documentation.
Know the rules before working
Do not assume a student residence permit includes employment rights. Azerbaijan generally requires an employer-obtained work permit for paid work, with statutory exceptions. Confirm your eligibility before accepting a job. Graduation does not itself guarantee a job or a continued residence basis.
Your questions, answered
Is one application enough?
Not always. ADA specifies its own application and a national CAS submission, with interviews for shortlisted applicants. Follow the sequence required by the university you choose.
Are all programmes taught in English?
No. The teaching language depends on the institution and programme. Obtain confirmation for your exact course before applying, including any preparatory language year and its additional cost.
